At Rita Phil, we have spent years analyzing women’s curves: butts, hips, thighs and belly pooches. Using that data, we have created a way to enhance each woman’s unique body shape. We understand curves and proportions - and more importantly, we’re experts on those areas you wish were perkier, smaller or bigger.
We combine classic tailoring techniques with modern data-driven algorithms to create beautiful skirts that not only fit--- they enhance your shape.
Our skirts are made of premium fabrics and are hand-sewn using traditional techniques. Each skirt receives the love and attention of a team of master tailors, so you get an enduring piece that will be with your closet for years to come.
The inspiration behind Rita Phil
From Linh, the founder of Rita Phil
What really inspires me about Rita Phil is that I get to bring a highly analytical approach to fashion. How can we enhance, shape, lift and hide all the areas that women are secretly wishing were enhanced, shaped, lifted and hidden?
During my time working on the business side, I’ve spent my fair share of time at conferences and networking events. I can’t count the number of times I’ve wished my skirt had a pocket, or my dress could stylishly take me from day to evening. With Rita Phil, the goal is create pieces that look great, and are functional enough for today’s busy woman.
Each piece we create is the result of hours of discussion on not only the aesthetics, but also how we would change the proportions for each body type. And if we think a certain style would work better for certain shapes than others, we will tell you (check the description for each product).
We want to take all the guesswork out of shopping, so you can simply enjoy looking good.
Who is Rita Phil?
The name Rita Phil is inspired by the main characters of an early 90’s movie called Groundhog Day. In the movie, Phil is stuck in a loop that repeats the same day over and over. The only way he could get out of this time trap and win Rita's heart, was to improve himself and to help those around him.
That's how we view the state of women’s fashion. We are all endlessly stuck in this nightmare of having a closet full of clothes but having nothing to wear.
Why is that? It's usually because what we mean is: "I have nothing that I'm excited to wear." At Rita Phil, we've found a way to break that cycle by improving on the fit of your clothes, giving you items that you actually want to wear because they let you look your best.
